this one started out as just a pencil drawing but after i had finished all the line work i left it overnight on my drawing board and a bug shat right on his cheek. i wasn't able to clean it off well enough so i decided to cut out the cheeks and lay it over some cut paper. turned out pretty well i think.

i have recently moved from vancouver to quadra island, where i will be spending the summer. i'm still in the midst of setting up here so i haven't had a chance to produce any new work to show. soon enough though. and in the mean time here are a couple of older drawings that i still enjoy

a couple of older mixed media drawings

i came across these pieces i did at the end of 2009, i still enjoy them so i thought i would share them. they are 10x10 inches square illustration board mounted on wood pannel.

it moves in your heart

a couple of simple cut paper pieces i made recently

the idea here is that there is a vessel, like a vase or jar of sorts, inside the figure. in vessel 1 there is energy, emotions, or ideas, consciousness, or love, whatever you'd like to think of it as, moving up from the heart and collecting in the mind space. in vessel 2 that same energy is moving from the mind and collecting in the heart space.
